Why stay longer in the Sahara
A few hours on a quad gives you the dunes. Two days or more gives you the desert: the quiet after sunset, a sky full of stars, breakfast on a ridge, and time to meet the people who live here. Our multi-day trips combine driving, riding and camping so you see the Merzouga region and the routes that lead to it, without rushing from car to hotel.

- 2 days: the 2 day Merzouga adventure mixes a quad or buggy ride, a night in a desert camp and a sunrise walk.
- 3 days: the 3 day desert expedition adds the fossil beds, Khamlia's Gnawa musicians and a second night in a remote camp.
- 4 days: the 4 day Sahara discovery reaches the Todra Gorge and the palm oases of the Tafilalet.
- 5 days: the 5 day off-road explorer crosses mountain pistes, the Dades Valley and the dunes.
- 7 days: the 7 day Sahara expedition is our deepest trip, with several camps and long days off the tarmac.
Where you sleep
Nights are in a mix of guesthouses and desert camps. Our camps have tents with proper beds and linen, shared bathrooms (private tents on request), and dinner is cooked on site. In winter, nights drop close to freezing, so we add extra blankets; in summer, we choose camps where the evening breeze reaches the tents. Read what to expect in a desert camp before you go.
Who these trips suit
Couples, friends and families with children over six all travel with us. You do not need off-road experience: the guide drives the 4x4 between stages and you choose how much time to spend on a quad or buggy. Travellers with more time can continue with one of our grand expeditions across the whole country.

The meals included are listed on each tour page; the 2 day adventure, for example, includes all meals. Vegetarian and other diets are easy to arrange.
One medium suitcase and a day bag per person fit comfortably in the 4x4. On camp nights you take a small overnight bag and the rest stays secure in the vehicle.
