Morocco Travel: Visa Requirements and Entry Information
Before you book flights, check two things: whether your nationality needs a visa, and whether your passport is valid for long enough. Here is how entry to Morocco works, by nationality, along with the documents to carry.
Visa-Free Entry
Citizens of these countries can enter Morocco without a visa and stay up to 90 days:
- European Union (all member states)
- United States
- Canada
- Australia
- New Zealand
- United Kingdom
- Switzerland
- Norway
- Iceland
- Japan
- South Korea
- Many other countries
Visa Required
Some nationalities do need a visa. Ask the nearest Moroccan embassy or consulate what currently applies to you. An application usually asks for:
- Valid passport
- Completed visa application form
- Passport photos
- Proof of accommodation
- Return ticket
- Proof of sufficient funds
Passport Requirements
- Valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date
- At least one blank page for stamps
- A copy of your passport, kept separately as a backup
Entry and Exit
You get an entry stamp in your passport when you arrive. Make sure it stays visible, because officers check it when you leave. Most nationalities currently pay no departure tax.
Travel Insurance
Insurance is not compulsory, but we strongly recommend it. Check that your policy covers:
- Medical expenses
- Emergency evacuation
- Adventure activities (quad biking, off-road driving)
- Trip cancellation
Before You Fly
For most visitors, getting into Morocco is easy: a valid passport lets you stay up to 90 days without a visa. Rules change, so check them again shortly before you travel. Once your papers are in order, browse our tours and start planning your trip.
